Besides the Sport and Social Club, do you have any recommendations for someone new to the island for getting out and meeting people? Places to volunteer? I work from home so I would like to get involved to meet new people.

Seems like Stt according to the name of the club. It has a Facebook page and website and from the looks of it, the members look like they are young adults-under 30 years old, but I'm bad at determining age, so someone can correct me.

Humane Society of STT, their No Flea Market and Lucky Paws Foundation ALWAYS needs volunteers!
There's also a list of non profits in the begining of the VI Telephone directory, you can choose from as well.

The one thing about that list in the phonebook is some of organizations are not descriptive and/or clear about what the organization is involved in.

On STX, a whole lot of organizations and their events and information are on Facebook. I imagine STT is the same - just spending some time searching pages yields a whole lot of information if you're on there.

There is also Active Island Tours. They organize mostly running events, but they had a fun Santa themed scavenger hunt before Christmas. I met lots of fun people.

It all depends on your age and interests. Wanna give us more specifics?

St Thomas Historical Trust is always in need of volunteers. Plenty of fun activities throughout the year. 340-774-5514 is the number for our museum/store.

In a week or two I can get you going as a Volunteer for Junior Achievement if that's of interest for you.

I'm not into running so much. That would be more of a chore for me. 🙂 Thanks for the suggestion.
