Good afternoon all,

I remember seeing someone posting recently about setting up a PO Box online, but I can't find the thread and don't remember who it was (NovaNut, was it you?). Anyhoo, I recently set up a PO box here and learned that (1) the USPS online system isn't accurate at all about whether they have any open PO boxes or not, so don't try setting it up online; and (2) the paperwork that it said I needed (2 forms of ID, one showing my physical address) wasn't necessary at all -- all the guy wanted to see was one form of ID, and my stateside DL was fine. I tried to hand him my passport and lease, and he didn't want either one. YMMV on both these counts; just thought I'd share.

Its still a good thing you were prepared, because more often then not they want the IDs and proof that you live here, at least for the USPS. 🙂

Recently a new tenant was turned away because she didn't have her lease with her. Always a good idea to take everything you can possibly think they might want. Better safe than sorry (and a second trip). It's like with most things here, it just depends on who you get to help you and the mood they are in that day.
