Maybe something will get done now that people are calling and complaining. Good! Media attention will help.

So they've been looking for the source of the odor since Sept. according to the article and they still can't figure it out?

Most properly run agencies would be able to do so as well.

Ruptured mainline or holding tank issue, most likely leaking raw sewage. Sorry to hear about this in paradise.

I drove through Red Hook yesterday. That is not a sewage H2S smell. I know the smell of sewage quite well as I used to run several Wastewater treatment plants in the past.

The smell is decaying marine life, most likely sargasso weed that was pushed way up into the mangroves by wind and is now sitting there rotting. DPNR leaves a lot to be desired sometimes but they do have to answer to the EPA and if there was a raw sewage leak, they would be all over WMA to do something about it.

Just have to wait for all that seaweed to decompose.
