Case Place too! ... We had to add an extra week to our "vacation" due to kitchen issues, but we opened today!!! Our phone was out but is up and running again as of this afternoon. Now the credit card machine and to-go orders can continue. Come on by and see us and our wonderful AIR-CONDITIONING!!! Sure am glad to be back.:D

Ok, the Full Moon beach bar has always been an interest of mine for the last couple of years. While we were in St Croix last year we just happened to meet an old Manager of the place. I would put her to work in less than a heartbeat.

If someone would please, get me up to date with the recent Full Moon environment and events that may have taken place.
I can say that I had met Alex, the manager and owner of the bar and truthfully I would not have invested a penny with her. This is not a personal attack on her, just good business sense.

Full Moon officially re-opens on Saturday at 9 AM. Brunch both Saturday and Sunday until 2 PM. They plan a smaller menu for lunch/dinner until Xmas and then will expand the menu again. Financing has been arranged to get them back in business and they need as much local support as they can get to stay open long-term.

Full Moon was shut down for lack of business and cash flow issues, not for health inspection issues. Weekend brunch is one of the more reliable things to open for during slow season. You may have noticed that many of the restaurants and bars on the island shut down for much of September and October every year.

Snapper~

I'm the owner of Full Moon. I would really appreciate if you would stop spreading rumors about my restaurant when you haven't a CLUE as to what is going on. If you want to state "facts", perhaps you should call me first to find out what they are. 718-5669 or 718-2515 at home.

Every employee that I have has and has HAD a current health card since day one. We passed our health inspection with flying colors. I have had ONE loan, from one investor, my partner. The business ran at a profit until slow season. After the hurricane, I found a financer to replace the SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS in lost inventory so we could reopen this weekend. We didn't have water until last weekend.

Tell me, would you want to eat in a restaurant with no water to wash the dishes? Talk about a health problem!

Get your story straight before you run your mouth. Feel free to call me to get a full report (not that it is any of your business) before you start kicking someone that is already down. This place is not a flip for me, it is my life. I intend on keeping it for many years to come.

To my loyal fans out there.....thank you....and I will see you this weekend!

Cheers~!

To respond to the folks asking about Calvin....

He is doing GREAT! Was able to save all of his inventory and get right back open. He had a nice little crowd last weekend, and we celebrated making it through a very scary time.

Again, thank you all for your concern.....I look forward to seeing you all!!!

Alix

PS....and our building fared just fine.....lost one sign, and that was it!!!! We prepped really well, and feel truly blessed. Lord knows that this whole thing could have been a whole lot worse!

PSS!!!!~ Today is my one-year anniversary of owning the bar.....to all of you that supported me, a BIG, HEARTFELT "Thank you!" I love you all and look forward to the upcoming season!

Thank you Alix. Good luck to you. Full Moon (Outlaw Sundays especially) and Calvin's were our favorite places and Asa was my most faithful confidant. It has been over a year...time flies.

Alix,

If and when I get the chance, I will stop in. It has been our goal to move back to STX. When the timing is just right. Just graduated from Sonography school. We'll see what the future holds.

Just wanted to let you all know that Mom and I went out to Cheeseburger's for my belated birthday dinner and Llewellen is as fine as he ever has been. The Prime Rib dinners Mom and I had were outstanding as was the service of two great young ladies! Mom and Llewellen got to chat a bit, he sang songs that my father sang way back when...we needed a tissue here and there...made all of us remember WHY we so love it here...HOME...and so lucky to say that. Blessings are abundant, sometimes we just have to slow down to see them. (please forgive the lazy grammar...too much 'spirits'!);)

Alix, I have to admit I didn't get to your reopening. I saw the lights from down the beach.
But in Aug/Sept when I was on island I was at Full Moon a few times. That used to be my favorite place. But on that stay I felt the atmosphere had changed. I felt that I was intruding. Some of my local resident friends agreed with this feeling.
In the past you always greeted everyone, yet this trip you were at the corner of the bar with your friends playing a game.
I find nothing wrong with the game, in fact I would probably joined in had I been asked. I do go to trivia around the island two to three times a week. but no one, not you nor the waiters ever mentioned that anyone could join in. In fact the service was not very good either.
Like I say, I felt like I was intruding on your private party, so I changed locations of my dining and drinking experiences.
I'm sure that the regulars find it friendly and inviting, and yes, in Feb/MAr I will try Full Moon again. I just hope it has a more friendly feeling to non-regulars or the group that doesn't play the game at the bar.
