Does anyone have an idea how much pressure washing and recoating a roof might cost.? House is on STX and is two stories high with many angles. I would estimate total roof square footage around 2,400. I just want to have a rough idea before obtaining estimates. Thanks!

We have a fairly large roof also about 2400 sq. ft. Top Coat materials alone were approximately $300 in total. We pressure washed & did the roof coating ourselves. Caution: the roof coating material can be more slippery than snot.......(ok, maybe an old Indiana term I used to use growing up that still just rolls off the tongue/fingers without thinking). So, be careful up there!

one more thing. If you are going to do it them you ight want to do two thin coats. They will hold up better than one heavy coat.

You can always do what I do, you can go buy a nice high pressure sprayer, (I bought a 3100 psi Rigid Subaru powered sprayer for $400.00), then hire the work to be done directly for you from an out of work painter or roof guy.

I have a massive property on Crown Mountain that I saved 1 or 2 grand just by doing it with local (legal) workers who have the experience and the time.

Pre-negotiate the work to be done with specific needs attached to the agreement. If you have any questions, you can always PM me and we could swap phone numbers and I can try to help as best I can.

Argh,

T.

I agree with billd on the two thin coats. Might be a bigger pain and seem like twice the work but definitely the better way IMHO.
