From a facebook post.

"Just an FYI. Fellow vendors who set up at the Palms on Monday nights with me had a rough night going home. They took the bypass back around by Hess going home last night. 2 locals in a red pickup tried to bump and run them off the road. They had a gun and were gonna rob them. My friend saw the gun when the guy got out of the red pick up ,threw it in reverse and after a short chase and them bumping their car a couple times my friends got away. Please let friends know to stay on main roads at night. Some folks are getting desperate"

This is true. I spoke w/the man last night. Incident occurred on NorthShore Rd. just after the bridge by the turn to Frangipani Rd. He got blocked in by 2 vehicles and shots were fired. No one was injured. He was able to speed away and called the police from Off The Wall. Incident occurred at approx. 8 pm.

Three separate incidents Monday night; the two noted above, and another near Singh's in Christiansted. All involved a red truck.

And someone else posted on Facebook that their red truck was stolen Monday night. I can't find the damned post now, but I think it was a 2003 Ford.

Yeah, that's it. I still can't find the post now, you know how they randomly come and go on your timeline when you go back you can't always find something you saw earlier.

That's because these assholes have no fear of getting caught. They either are related to someone in power or know our police force is incompetent. Bring in off island police to help. There is no shame is asking for help if needed VIPD.

That's because you are walking victims that have no ability to protect your selves.

Just remember, when seconds count the cops are only minutes away (or here.. hours).

Depending on cops to keep you safe will get you killed 90% of the time. Become self reliant, get a gun permit and be a responsible owner. That's about the worst mentality possible and if living HERE hasn't taught you that... haha

Yea. It's the victims fault.

awee, victim mentality is cute.

think like that all you want, and when you get into a situation that you can't protect yoru self, just complain to the bad guys that the cops should be there to save you.

Reality is real, victim mentality is useless to reality.

Yes, you have a responsibility, and it's NOT to see your self as a victim.

Point is, there is no fear from these scumbags as they know most people do not carry due to the laws of the usvi. Look at Chicago, it's a bloodbath, very restrictive permit process. No one is saying these girls should have a permit, but if the criminals started to think there is a chance that someone in the vehicle has a gun, they would be less likely to try something. Same with the red pick up. I have a concealed carry and my wife doesn't like guns, but when we are walking down the street at night after dinner in my city, she feels much safer knowing that at least we have a chance if something happens and doesn't mind the gun so much then. Anyways, we can debate the gun point on and on, but statistics prove that crime is lower when law abiding citizens are allowed to carry.

I was thinking about going to an art show in C'sted tonight. Back in the States, I wouldn't think twice about it. Now I have to wonder about being run off the road, robbed, raped and murdered with the cops still scratching their heads about the "complicated" issue of a truck involved in a horrific crime that happened almost two weeks ago.

I don't want to live in someplace like the Sudan, where you have heavy armament to go anywhere. This isn't an action movie, whatever precious fantasies gun fetishists clutch to their groins.

Lock & Load!

I was surprised that even a shotgun owner needs to be licensed and have their weapon registered here. Up in the states a shotgun is practically in the same category as a sling shot. My plan was to sell off my revolver and rifles when I move to STX and just get a shotgun, but that's a headache as well. All you really need to do is scare a would be assailant and nothing does that better than a trusty old shotgun.
After all:

Nothing says "Good Evening" like a shotgun.

Maybe it's time for vigilante death squads to start patrolling at night. It shouldn't be difficult to lure these scumbag criminals into an ambush.
