A few weeks ago I ordered two sets of disc brakes for my car. Then I called around to price the folks who installed them; HH, Bengoa, Precision, Echo, Marvelous Marvin and Cruzion Tire. Didn't call the dealers, obviously. Just to install the pads I got prices ranging from $120 to over $300, JUST TO INSTALL THEM! I've done pads installation myself and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to do the job. I chose Cruzion. Supposed to take it in tomorrow for the job ($120.)

My question is: Has anyone used them for this type of job?, or is there someone better qualified/honest/reliable/etc. to have this done?

Now that I'm retired and on fixed income, inquiring minds want to know…

Thanks for the feedback...

Some may automatically turn the rotors and include that in the price. Some may automatically replace the rotors and include that in the price. Did they all give you the details or just the price? And of course there are the misc shop fees not included in the base price that are popular on the mainland at least.

I purchase all my own auto parts and have John at Welco Gas Station in Mt Welcome install them. He recently did the front and rear brake pads on my Acura and I believe it cost less than $100. This week he's installing a brake booster I sourced for my Land Cruiser.

I bought brakes for my truck and took them to the gas station across from schooner bay. The mechanic there installed them for $50. I forgot his name.
