Is there a supplier on the island or do I need order online. I found a company in the states, but it would be easier to buy what I need when I'm back down instead trying to figure out everything. Thanks for any insight.

A buddy of mine did his deck with SS cable.

He had to get everything on the mainland.

Did you check marine hardware stores? They usually have stainless steel cables and turnbuckles for rigging.

Better buying there (mainland) and use a forwarder in Miami.

Anything with the word "boat" or "marine" attached to it usually costs about 200% more. Like "boat rigging" or "marine store".

True but if you need it and they have it, it's worth exploring. Then you can decide what's more cost effective for your time and budget.
Anyways, good luck.

Yes, I own a boat, my marine water pump is $400, my auto store water pump was $50. LOL

I found a company on-line. I will be sending them pics and diagrams and they are going to figure it out for me. Hopefully. Guess it will be my christmas project. Thanks again everyone.

Hi, I am the guy vicanuck referred to in an above post that did his deck with SS cable. I installed approx 200 lf of cable railing on two decks. That equates to approx 2000 actual feet of cable and assorted fittings. The product I used is Raileasy from Atlantis Rail. www.atlantisrail.com Could not be happier. First deck was done about 4 years ago and second last summer. The supplier I used was Fehr Brothers. www.fehr.com Contact I went through was Victor Pagan vpagan@fehr.com Victor was great to work with, prices were excellent, shipping was fast to Paradise Freight.

Don't know what you are doing about posts. I used 4x4 PT posts with Endurance Rail post sleeves (Original Rail line). Also used Original Rail for my top rails between the posts. www.rdirail.com I had been using Endurance Rail for years when I was building custom houses in the states. I get the railing from 84 Lumber from my prior sales guy in Baltimore but he just has it delivered to Paradise from the Ft Lauderdale store.

BTW both my decks have Trex on them. Absolutely love it and also get it from 84 Lumber.

If you have any questions just hit me up. I you wanna come over and take a look you're more than welcome.

Jeff

I found a site atlantisrail.com and they must be part of suncorstainless.com as I recieved emails from both addresses. They replied within an hour from my initial inquiry. Thanks everyone for your help so far.

Hey Daveb722,

A few days ago I private messaged you information about the cable company in the States we used to repair our cables. I wonder if you saw that message? I don't see it here anywhere but know I sent it.

Please let me know if you received it. I know how to send PMs so am not sure whether it got to you! Thanks.
