I particularly like this:

An investigation - separate from his own investigation - is ongoing, Russell said. He would not provide any additional details as to what agency is investigating the Senate or what the investigation is about, but he said the investigation is the reason he changed his tactics.

"I modified it because I know law," Russell said.

He would not clarify what that meant.

"I'm changing it to suit the circumstances. I know what I'm doing," he said.

Russell said the press conference most likely would be held next week.

Moron thinks he knows law.

Now what guilty senator would consent to have their name revealed? Is this stupid or what? The ship of fools sails on. Or are we the real fools here to put up with this BS.

I just had a thought... Russell probably changed his tune when he found out he was on the list.

Unfortunately we elected to put the "fox(s) into the hen house"...only option now is to kill all the chickens and the fox(s) will leave!
Only a full revolt of the chickens will cause farmer Uncle Sam to come to the hen house to clear out the problem.

It would be evident to say that this lack of transparency is widespread amongst a significant portion of our elected officials. I have tried to view the report at the DOI IG website- but only found the public "sanitized" version.

I am relatively positive that the FOIA would grant easy access to the full document- it needs to be diseminated soonest. I fear that a lot of our "elected leaders" are going to feel the brunt of their indiscretions in November- we should ALL remember what's happening here and voted a significant amount of them out.

My thought is to wait until May/June and fill out a FOIA request for this, as well as the WAPA audits and forward them to significant news agencies for wide distribution- just in time for the November elections...

My fear now is- that WAPA has stopped paying into GERS (or so the news stories recount) and this is begining to become an untenable situation. All these "runaway factions" need to be brought in line with the common good of the people- things are progressively getting worse, and all we are hearing is lip service.

By the way, while I support WTE initiatives, I DO NOT SUPPORT the methods and type of contracts that our government has entreated- I think that the Territory can much better representation as well as financial return- which should be credited towards things like the LEAC....

In closing, I feel that the current method of "transparency" being displayed by the Senate is an arrogant, self serving, whitewash of a severely critical report which if released in it's unaltered form, would bring down the legislative house as we know it. It's wrong. It needs to be dealt with accordingly at the polling station. We need to start voting with past records in mind, not what was served at the fish fry....

Very accurately stated captpete. Mr Russell is the "head fox" in the hen house. Just because he's got a law degree from some university doesn't necessarily mean "he knows the law". The chickens who voted him back into the senate after he lost his senate seat for 1 term, is proof there's a lot of :S chickens who are voting.

Amen. As a lawyer on STX for many, many years who has run up against Mr. Russell on numerous occasions, I can honestly say he is an embarrassment to both the Bar and the Legislature.

Chief, why not run for Governor? There are a lot of us that would back you up. You have the education, experience and what seems like solid common sense.
