Brought Michigan License. Passport, SS card and lease agreement with physical address. I had more than I needed but didn't want to come back. Also need a copy of driving record from states if you've never had VI lisence before.

Very time I go to BMV I get environmental overload with the 2 TVs on differ t channels with the volume at full bore and 20 people talking over the noise while trying to hear and speak through plexiglass with a few holes drilled through it. And why is a HC parking permit $57 when ther are few spaces with 0 enforcement.
Even with all the required ID and a million spent we are still not complaint with the stateside universal ID licenses after about 3 years. Which may not be a bad thing for some people.

You have TV's in STX?
Granted, haven't been to BMV since last Jan. in STT but don't remember any TV'S.

Back in de olden days, the only ones that had TV's were the ones typing up the new registrations and Lord help you if it interrupted the Soap Operas! Took days sometimes to renew registration.

Ask for supervisor to turn them down. I would!

Apparently they are at least good enough for TSA. VI licenses are not in the list of those that will no longer be accepted for domestic travel ID starting next year some time. But they are "Under review for an extension renewal, allowing Federal agencies to accept driver's licenses from these states, until at least January 10, 2016 under a grace period." So we'll see.

Of course passports are accepted by TSA as well.

No TVs at STT BMV. it is fairly efficient as well. Mr. Olive has been there talking to people waiting each time I've been there this year (5) times and only had one experience that tested patience.

I just got my DL renewed on STJ a couple of weeks ago. I went at 10:30am and there was two other customers there. It was still 45 minutes from start to finish, but I was told that the place was an absolute zoo prior to me arriving there. I think the workers were trying to sort through all the paperwork generated before I got there. They were all really nice though. I figured it would take me at least an hour and a half to get it done, so I was pretty happy.

I need to renew my driver's license, and the BMV's phones are dead, so does anybody know:

- Is the list of required documents still the same as it was in 2015? (see list in the application form at the start of this thread)

- Are the same docs required for renewal as for a new license?

- Is the camera working on STX?

- What time does the BMV open?

#1 - looks identical to what I used when I renewed in December
#2 - yes
#3 & #4 - no idea; they open at 8am on STJ and STT.

Better half got her's renewed in early January.

It expired in September the day of Maria.

They charged her a penalty for late renewal of $10 per month!

The license does not look the same as mine that was renewed in April.

I have renewed my car licenses and her DL since the storms and it's not a bad experience.

Thanks for the info everybody.

I just got my license renewed at the BMV on STX. It's open from 8am to 3pm. The acceptable documents list is essentially the same as shown in the application above.

I got in line at 7:45am (I was customer #5), was called in at 8:20am, and was done at 8:30am. Since I was the first customer who needed a license, it was fast once I got inside. At 8am, there was a line of 20 people out the door.

They take cash or business checks only.

The new driver's license design has one major improvement: It says "DL#" next to the license number. With the old designs, you had to guess which of two unlabeled numbers was the DL#.

Does anyone know how far back your driving record must be? I have moved from Florida and have options when ordering my record. 3 years, 7 years, or a complete history for State of Florida. Anyone transferred a license from another state recently? Thanks so much!

I am a US Citizen and want to move to USVI. How do I become an official USVI Resident? How does it long to take?

But you need a VI driver's license after 90 days.

Had a few friends renew their licenses recently on St. John and they were both told that smiling for your photo is no longer permitted. ? They look like mug shots.

Why? There's no enforcement here!
