VI Consortium - Definitely Not an Outlet for Free Speech

I remain totally boggled at your audacity in disseminating half truths and innuendo presented as fact. Even the Source editor's humanitarian trip(s) to Rwanda are not immune because the First Lady (gasp) was involved with that project. I provided links which refuted your scathing dismissal of the project but, just like any run of the mill bottom feeding gossipmonger, you don't acknowledge the facts and just regurgitate the same old unsubstantiated garbage week after week.

I'm surprised you didn't answer the question about who owns the VI Consortium - too close to home and your back fence?

Thank you Tart, for not denying that the Source editor's trips to Rwanda were paid for by the taxpayer without legislative approval, even if they were humanitarian. It was illegal whether or not she was accompanied by the First Lady. Thank you for not suggesting either that the First Lady had legislative approval.

I never discouraged the value of humanitarian projects. In fact, I praise them and have done them myself - on my own dime. So to say that I dismissed the humanitarian nature is a red herring. But I understand your need to use a red herring.

I have no idea who owns www.viconsortium.com but why don't you ask them? Maybe it is listed in their page or contact info? A guy named Ernice Gilbert gives some of the interviews.

Red herrings? Scarlet. Those trips were not "illegal" by any stretch and you well know that. If you weren't so eaten up by your insane and irrational hatred of the present Governor you'd be capable of more rational and balanced thought.

As I recall, Shaun Pennington wrote that the Rwanda trip she took was not paid for by the VI even if she did travel with Mrs. Dejongh.
Due to the innuendos being bandied about, she felt she should clarify that fact that she was not traveling on the VI dime.

If I can find the link I'll post it.

One should try to get the facts straight before indulging in idle speculation.

I already posted it when MissJustice brought it up a while ago but refuting her wild assertions with facts is obviously an exercise in futility!

The "About Us" page shows who "owns" VI Consortium: http://viconsortium.com/about/

It's not that hard to find!

Here is the complete story just posted on VIC. it is supposed to be journalism.

An ardent Donna Christensen supporter was found stabbed to death at around 5 a.m. Monday on St. Croix. Details about the killing are still sketchy, but the VI Consortium can confirm it was a male victim.

This story is developing. We will provide updates as information becomes available.

So the Source author denying the funding is considered reliable? Really? An independent not refermce is acceptable, not an editor who endorsed him denying it. Well, maybe the governor should tell us how one trip cost the taxpayer $140,000.00.

I pay taxes Old Tart, so it bothers me. Do you pay taxes?

And although I don't know the consortium people, what if I did? Knowing people does not discredit a person. If Tart or any blogger here knows Pennington, does that mean they are somehow behind the Soource or that their comments are invalid.

And FYI, I have been blocked as a blogger from VI Consortium also.

VI Consortium "Breaking News"

Update 1:

Moments ago, the VI Consortium spoke with Franklin Johnson, territorial campaign manager for the Mapp-Potter team, and he expressed his sorry in the death of a St. Croix man early Monday morning, along with his disappointment that local talk radio host Jimmy of 1620 AM today alluded that the stabbing death may have been politically motivated.

“I really can’t think why someone would even allude to making those types of statements,” Johnson said. “It is so wrong and irresponsible.”

Johnson went on to share several examples where the two gubernatorial camps worked amicably together while on the campaign trail.

“When we were putting up our tent, they came and assisted us with our tent; at JFK, they were putting up their tent, and our people went and assist them with their tent,” he said. “At different poll sites [on Election Day], Donna’s people had their sound system, our people had our sound system; our people would get in the road and dance, and they would get around and guard [the equipment].”

Johnson, further expanded his point by relating an encounter he had on Sunday night in St. Croix with a homeless man who asked him for a Mapp-Potter t-shirt.

“He asked me for the t-shirt and I gave him the t-shirt,” Johnson said. “Then, suppose this man is found dead tomorrow [wearing] a Mapp t-shirt, should I really believe that somebody killed him because he has a Mapp t-shirt?”

More to come as information is made available.

The VI Consortium is nothing but a filthy rag. I've lost all respect for it and no longer read their biased tabloid style, sensationalism story creation. There is no news being reported there...just crap.
