It's the same story in the Donald J. Trump Cal ed into Radio Station thread, and repeats some of what was in the St Thomas Source, I think. About the VI Republican Caucus delegates that newly moved to St John, except Rachel Maddow went deeper into the backgrounds of newcomer John P. Yob and VI Republican Vice Chair. Turns out he's a convicted felon, and the VI Republican Chair, Canegata (sp?) doesn't seem to like him at all. Called him a Nazi.

What is sad and pathetic about this? Political opportunists will take advantage of power voids. They did. Mitt Romney has been silently raising money again. This is part of plan for a contested convention where Romney emerges as nominee, without having to trudge through the nomination process.

Like anybody wants Romney. His rebuttal of Trump was a joke.

I know YOU didn't say it, but why would Republicans want Romney as a candidate? Better to stick with someone who's in the race now who is at least current.

This is potentially election fraud, which I think might be a criminal offense. Allegedly, John Yob falsified the residency record in VI, in order to be elected as a delegate to the GOP convention.

It all hinges on whether he met VI residency requirements at time of registration.

Sparty, link to the poll, please, and polls only poll LIKELY voters. Trump and Sanders appeal to UNLIKELY voters so pollsters need new methodology for this election, IMO.

And the wording on that which is very unclear will have to be determined by the courts. After his (and his wife's) eligibility was questioned, the court issued a TRO allowing their nominations to go forward pending further investigation and clarification.

And if he is ineligible there is an elected alternate in the wings.

Based on local TV news segment, there are also allegations of ballot tampering. The online absentee ballot, which is a Word document, says to mail the ballot back to Canagata. The ballots that were sent in a direct mail campaign and shown on TV had been edited to show a different return address (to one of the new residents).

Not surprising.
