Due to the hurricanes I’ve had to leave STT which has been my home for many awesome years. Since the shipping yards were a mess, Tropical and Crowley could not ship our cargo and vehicle to Florida. We were advised to use Viking Corporation run by Beris Lynch.
They are so overpriced— gouged us! It was the worst experience.
I’m so angry I made a website telling my story and WARNING everyone Not to use this moving/ shipping company.
Please read my story and pass on the warnings. Thanks
My story can be read with photos of damages on this site

SUCH A RIP OFF!

They moved us from STT to STX. They charged Omx $22,000 for a two bedroom household and two cars.

FWIW when we moved back - it costs us $1,500.00 for the exact same - minus two couches.

They did pack everything and unpack everything and take away boxes but what a racket they have. Also scratched the hell out of one of our cars but that one was stolen anyway lol.

Thank you STXBob and all of you for joining the conversation.

Hopefully, if enough bad reports are posted and people see that Mr. Beris Lynch is a Jerk, a Fake, and Not of the Island way of being "Good People"

Maybe all of this will Lose him some potential customers! Will Lose him A lot of potential money.

He treated some us badly and damaged our property. And, then he doesn't have the professionalism or honor to admit the damages. If I were him, I would have admitted the damages his crew did to my stuff, and payed up. Lynch and Viking Corporation did $12,000 worth of damage to my property. I hope that Losing potential customers Loses Viking A Lot More than that $12,000 !

Please keep posting everyone-- Let's make Viking Corporation LOSE MONEY! Lose money by Not getting customers.

**Plus, we will save some other people from going through what I and others have by using their horrible moving service.

Cheers!
:XA Very disgruntled customer of Viking Corp.

I actually had a good experience with Viking when I shipped personal items with them last January to FL.
Both Berris and his secretary were helpful and accommodating.

The guys came to the house and packed everything up that I had ready at the time and came back a second time for the rest. I wasn't moving furniture, except for one large rattan storage chest as I was renting my house here, furnished.

They did a great job. Nothing was damaged and they unpacked and placed things where I wished once delivered to house in FL.
Mom's China arrived intact!

I will agree it was pricey!

BTW, I'm back on island, dealing with insurance adjuster, contractor, tenant issues, getting my truck registered, business license renewed and all that all of that entails! My house survived both hurricanes very well tho there are damages that shall cost a pretty penny to repair.

Loving the cool breezes and being on home turf, seeing friends, enjoying the ocean views and sounds of nature (except for the 3 chickens and 1 rooster - time to set trap!) for awhile until I can get things done and main house and 1×1 apt. rented.
All this 7.5 weeks after a total hip replacement surgery so there are challenges. Glad I had healthcare insurance, stateside, which was a dominent reason for my move!

Did they raise the amount you can sue for in small claims court? Thought it was only up to $5K.

Great for you Alana.
Glad Beris did good by you. I’m sure you paid extra for that.

There’s more people they’ve done wrong by however....

What happened to my item was malicious. A friend asked if they ran my shit over with a pallet jack. There’s no other way for this damage to happen.

Beris is a lying unprofessional businessman. He’s not a good man. If he was he would do right by me.

Keep out of my topic please

Speedy I WISH I was joking! Of course we didn’t see any of the paperwork until a year later when tax time. Total BS. It overall didn’t effect us really but seriously a rip off!

And FWIW I wouldn’t go to court here unless it’s worth it! We’re STILL in court over our car that was stolen from the mechanics! I do love small islands... we totally got the scoop on what happened to our car from a disgruntled mechanic! He’s even going to testify (if the judge ever gets it together). He “forgot” to summon the owner TWICE and just said “sorry”. It’s unbelievable. I’ll dish the whole thing after we get a ruling.... IF we ever do! It’s been a year. Now we’re starting with another (unrelated) lawsuit. This one will take years I’m sure. Sigh.

OP - I’m SURE it wasn’t malicious. They just don’t give AF. That’s all. We’re dealing with a situ now also. Our car was working when we drove it onto the boat from STX to STT. Now it’s not. After $400 it’s still not right, mechanic thinks water in the tank. Intentional? IDK. But I sure as hell wouldn’t recommend Water Spirit either! Long story also but they suck. Pretty much everything was somewhat damaged in our move - boat and movers all guilty. Luckily nothing too major. Hell I can’t even get a PO package that doesn’t look like they played soccer with it. Chuuupes!

It’s not all bad... we DID get our 2014 tax return today. Hoorayyy!
