Viya vs broadband

My broadband WiFi signal is strong throughout the day. No complaints. But in the evening, when demand is high, speeds slow significantly. Lots of buffering and frame freeze between 8-10pm. I’m guessing too many people on one tower or tower equipment not robust enough. Would I have similar experience with Viya? Given its fiber optic network I guess not but want to check. I’m on stx. Any post Maria experienced Viya users on stx ?

Viya is a coax cable modem system to the customer. They (and viNGN) have fiber backhaul around the islands.

Have you called Broadband VI to let them know you are experiencing congestion? 340-713-2943 is the number.

Yes I called broadband. Been with broadband long time and I think customer service has been great. Hate to switch off. Had innovative in stt for many, many years and their customer service was HORRIBLE. Couple weeks ago called several times to report issue. Jay came out and did a great job. I went from nominal 10 mbps during day and 2 at night to 20-25 mbps during day and 5-8 at night. From not watching streaming at all at night out of frustration to watching at night now with occasional freeze and fair amount of buffer. I called again last week and asked to speak with Neal but all I got was another request from scheduler to visit my home. I don’t think the problem is at my home. I think it is at the tower. I am not an expert but after talking with a few neighbors with the same issue we collectively concluded it is a tower saturation problem. With the caveat that we don’t know what we are talking about.
