Brandon,

It's only been three hours since your original post and it's Easter Monday here...you need to be on island time when waiting for locals to respond to your queries 😉 .

The only STT Baptist affifiated Churches on STT that I know of are:

Baha'i Faith - 340-774-3648
Bethel Baptist Church - 340-774-1378
Bovoni Baptist Church - 340-775-0265
St. Paul Baptist Church - 340-775-5020
V.I. Baptist Mission and Academy - 340-775-3540

Most Churches on island don't have websites so I've provided you with their telephone numbers. If you're interested in a specific type of Baptist congregation you should check with your stateside group to see if any island groups share the same tenets. I suspect you'll be happiest if you wait until you're here to begin your search for a congregation because I think you will find that the Baptist Churches here, like everything else here, are very different from what you are accustomed to in the states.

"Island time" is a state of mind. Island culture moves to different rhythms than stateside culture. This doesn't mean that everything is always late but rather that the pace of life is slower and more relaxed. Ferrys adhere to a schedule, more or less, but other aspects of life here are unhurried.

Also, although YOU may be online waiting for a response, many of the posters to this board log on either when they can get a moment or at a specific time each day. Others borrow computers or log on at a friend's or at work occasionally. When you post a question, try to be patient and allow one or two DAYS to give people time to respond before you get concerned that nobody has responded. Be aware of holidays and weekends when people are more likely to be busy with activities and not answering queries. The answers will come. Just give it time.

Welcome to "Island Time" 🙂

Another example of island time. When an event is actually going to start at the time stated, a play or meeting, for example, the advertising wiill say that it starts at 4:00 SHARP. This is code that means the event will start at that time - more or less.

So relax.

Wow,...coming from a military back ground where "if you're not 15mins early your late..." will have to take some adjusting.

Brandon, here is the definition I always give people who ask about Island Time:

I ask them "Do you know what Manana means?"
They usually answer, "Yes, it means tomorrow."
I reply, "Here Manana means... Sometime AFTER Today."

It took me 3 hours to get stamps put on some boxes I shipped via USPS because I didn't have a 'reservation' to bring them in... THAT's Island Time. LOL

Island Time can be a real adjustment for you, but "You can DOOO it!"
