I feel for all the folks in the path of this hurricane!

NHC predicts that Harvey is expected to produce total rain accumulations of 15 to 25 inches and isolated maximum amounts of 35 inches over the middle and upper Texas coast through next Wednesday

That's an insane amount of rain.

Stay safe Texans!!!

Agreed. I pray it's not as catastrophic as predicted.
And pray we don't face anything remotely similar.

In such a potentially catastrophic impending event and the huge amount of people who need to be evacuated, I seriously doubt that checkpoints and illegal immigrants are on the agenda. If it is, it's ridiculous.

People will lose their lives while Trumplemeantweetingthinskin goes on his weekly vacation while costing taxpayers $400,00.00 per day and you're embracing absurdity.
Maybe you need a heart or brain transplant. Unbelievable stupidity.
Especially since Harvey has become a Cat 4 hurricane with catastrophic consequences and may very well impact Texas for 4 - 5 days.
Your focus is on rounding up immigrants?
Get some humanity.

Maybe Gumbo was being facetious. I don't understand why TWC has Cantore and Seidel and other correspondents out in the storm, in the dark, still reporting!!!! I think that shows that it is safe to be out in the storm, which I think is very irresponsible of them.

I guess your opinion is the only acceptable one. Law enforcement is entitled to enforce the law in any situation they choose. When did following the law become wrong? I guess the same time name calling became a way to make your point. Get a life!

Respecting the rule of law has been a hallmark of the new administration especially with the pardon of Arpaio. *cough*

But it's OK for Obama to pardon people with worse offenses ?

Actually a liberal judge ordered Arpaio to stop enforcing a law that is on the books.
That is why he was held in contempt, for enforcing the law.
So spin it any way you need to so it will fit your thinking.

Back to the topic (please stop bickering about that a-hole Trump) - i am sorry that the incessant heavy rain, that was forecast, came to pass. It is mind blowing! I hope there aren't any more deaths and that the rain stops soon. Times like this make me so thankful for what I have.

This is very true. I'm thankful the storm didn't do as some feared. It could have regenerated in the gulf and slammed Galveston as a cat 4.
As aweful as it is thats at least something to be thankful for.
Actually I was joking about rounding up illegals during the storm, can't even laugh anymore. True colors come out when things don't go as some would like.

Yes Gumbo it is very fortunate indeed that the storm did not backtrack and regenerate as was forecast at one point!!!

Not yet, anyway.
They are forecasting it to head back to gulf and then back on land but unsure of track once it does.
Unimaginable flooding!

What many people forget is that when a president visits a devastated location, speee1dy, is that it diverts precious and much needed rescue, police and other much needed resources to his visit instead of to and for the victims of the disaster who need help the most.
At least Obama wasn't tweeting inanities, touting his rallies and pardoning racists while having more of his staff either getting fired or defecting from a defective presidency.
Maybe Trump will bring a trailer of more play-doh with him.
Very necessary item in a disaster

This hurricane and flood event will be impacting Texas, Houston and surrounding areas for a very long time, years possibly. Maybe Trump should rebuild Texas first, instead of the wall Mexico is not going to pay for.

Houston is a city in Texas. The entire state was not impacted by the hurricane and storm.

you are mad the trump was on vacation, i pointed out that obama was also on vacation.
i pointed out yet more hypocrisy.

i have no problems with either one of them not going out there. heck, trump can wait another day or two. whatever the state needs him to do.

heck just stop with the hypocrisy , thats all i ask

As Harris County swims under over 2 feet of water Trump reminds people he won Missouri by big numbers and to buy a book by a Sherrif now being sued by family of inmate who died of dehydration in his jail. It is crazy to think someone is more out of touch with reality than Mapp, but there it is.
