How many hundreds of cups of tea made by teabags would one have to drink every day in order for the pesticides to have any negative effect on one's health? Funny how this and similar scare articles never mention that.

How many cups a day times 365 days a year adds up and you have cumulative effects including pesticides ingested from other food sources, daily. Why would you want to ingest any pesticides if it can be avoided?
Have a couple of cups and enjoy!

That's what I'm asking - how many cups?

I have another question. It seems that the tea tested, although in bags, was removed from the bags to be tested. So presumably the tea bags themselves are not contaminated but the tea itself within the bags. Has a similar study been done to test loose tea? Unfortunately the link within the article which leads to the actual results comes up with a heading but no content.

I drink a cup of tea probably 4X/year these days so am I in danger? I think I would get rather sick purely from overload if I drank 20 or more cups a day but that number is just off the top of my head since there's no information on how much is too much. And how does my one cup of coffee a day stack up in comparison? Is drinking bush tea hazardous to my health (after all there are all sorts of potentially harmful things floating in the air which can stick to the leaves)?

If someone uses teabags on their eyes to reduce puffiness, should they be wary how many and what brand they should use? If someone decides after reading this article to rid their kitchen cupboard of these lethal bags, what's the best method of disposal to nullify the toxicity so it doesn't escape into the environment? Burning, an acid bath?

So many unanswered questions and so little time!

I put this article out there for people that might want to avoid pesticides in their food/tea.

For you to constantly post unnecessary comments, continuously just shows how petty you have become.

Find another hobby besides trolling on everything I post.
You obviously have issues with everything I post since you feel obligated to continue to make snarky comments upon.
I shall now refer to you as Old Troll.

Not trolling at all, simply seeking some answers to either authenticate what you've linked as being scientifically proven "fact" or show it as an example of hyperbolic pseudo-science.

Launching into a personal attack only seems to demonstrate the insecurity of the attacker and an inability to rationally uphold their stance (assuming that since you linked the article with no comment you accept it as fact which you think should be broadcast to as wide an audience as possible).

I have way more faith in properly documented scientifically conducted controlled tests which after diligent scrutiny by scientific peers and final acceptance make it into accredited scientific journals than the plethora of articles which, for instance, claim that not eating bananas will miraculously reduce my tummy bulge and that regular colonic irrigation will cure everything that ails me.

I don't think I'm the one who has "issues" here.

Ill bet the "organic" tea has pesticide residues as well. The biggest con the organic industry ever pulled was convincing people they don't use pesticides. If it wasn't so sad, it would be funny

That is all irrelevant, since the tea is probably GMO and we are all going to grow an ear on our forehead. Or on our chin if it's Celestial Seasonings.

That's side-splitting if it weren't so utterly crazy that so many can be hoaxed so easily - and can continue to be hoaxed so many years after the hoax is uncovered. Since I usually drink at least a gallon a day of dihydrogen monoxide I'm so lucky to be still kicking or even breathing! Too funny! 😀

Does it have to be another ear? Two is already too many to hear the white noise coming from my wife.

Good.luck with that. Almost all food grown uses pesticides. You should totally vote for the quack doctor Stein for president. She wants a moratorium on all pesticides. By conservative estimates food yields would drop 30-50%. Get out those bulldozers..time to clear more rainforest!! Dr. Stein is totally anti GMOs too. Sounds like your candidate. If you don't mind someone who thinks WIFI is "frying our brains" and someone who panders to the anti vaccination cult, vote Jill Stein

Thanks. I'll stick with Clinton.
I'm sure you think it's perfectly fine to have pesticides in all our food and other products, even if it can be avoided.

Unless you grow it yourself or know the person growing it, you have pesticide residue..the dose makes the poison. Watch out for the dihydrogen monoxide. It is in nearly ever food. Kills thousands a year too.

Don't you have your own 700 plus post to maintain? I'm not trolling. Merely pointing out how a pesticide free world.would be a world riddled with disease, famine and pestilence

Pesticides are bad for you ONLY if ingested in harmful amounts. The original article is bad science. It never mentioned the amounts of pesticides found, or said anything about how much it took to be harmful.

The article is solely designed to scare and misinform the reader.
