St Thomas Bay Yacht Fire - Who does the best Breaking News Reporting?

The fire was reported on local TV news last night. A luxury yacht was engulfed in flames off the waterfront and was subsequently towed away. The matter remains under investigation.

I did a internet search for the "latest" on the Yacht fire and all I could find was a two line report with no follow up, other than it is under investigation like you mentioned, and limited reporting. Daily News Reporting has a Website with incident.

Sometimes its good to be connected with the drama as it unfolds. Be in the know as it were with Breaking News.

Thanks for posting the two links to video for story of recent Yacht Fire in St. Thomas.

OMG LMAO at CBSN when the commentator says at the end of clip "I think they will have to get a new boat."

Both links have such dramatic footage. I read from what I could gain on the internet the flames went on for hours. What a environmental hazard for local residents who had to inhale this and ocean wildlife. I am afraid to think of the cause or any foul play that may be at hand. As @OldTart mentioned above the investigation is still ongoing.

Still no hint as to the cause? It's not every day a $2 Million dollar yacht goes up in flames in paradise.

I am no crime reporter, but my first question would be 1) How many bodies recovered, if any? and 2) Were there signs they were alive prior to fire?

Forensics can prove this

3) Was a acculturate used for the fire or not?

Nobody was injured. Local media has covered the incident extensively.

Rumored to have been caused by a galley fire.
Most yachts of this size and caliber, have fire suppression equipment on board and will drill their crews on their use.

I think that we were lucky not to have had the high winds that we had been experiencing on the day Positive Energy burned and that the Coast Guard was able to relocate the yacht for the marina.
Think they'll change the name to "Up In Smoke!"

I know the yacht was at the fueling dock when fire broke out. I saw the burned out hull that is now a potential Superfund site ( I'm joking but it isn't good for environment). Yachts are replaceable, lives are t. Thank god everyone got out

There is a Facebook page called "What's Going on St. Thomas" that seems to have lots of members who take pictures and report every little thing they see, from stray dogs to car accidents to the yacht fire. While it's not news reporting, it's at least live, on-the-scene observations. Social media is taking over the world.
