We're Moving To STX in June. I Have 4 boys (5 if you count my hubby 🙂
My boys are 13; 8; 6; and 3.
I 'd like to find some friends for them, do you have kids you would like to get together?

~Also, is there any summer camps, scouting, local summer kid activities, etc?
The older 2 are used to going to summer camps, this move is going to
be a fun adjustment, but an adjustment just the same.
I'm hoping to keep everyone moving.

thanks

I have an 8-year-old son in the same boat – we're planning to move to stx this summer and he'll be starting over. Those are all excellent questions and things we've been mulling over.

Hello,

Here are a few...

Boy Scouts of America Virgin Islands Council number (340) 774-2752 on St. Thomas and for St. Croix you can try (340) 772-0934.

The St. Croix Landmark Society usually has a summer camp & activities, check their website at http://www.stcroixlandmarks.com/ and click on Education.

The Yacht Club on St. Croix has a Junior Sailing program that includes a summer camp, http://www.stcroixyc.com/sailing/camp.php.

There is the St. Croix Swimming Association, you could check with them and see if they have any programs available. Their number is (340) 778-1398.

Also St. Croix Tennis Foundation, (340) 773-3036.

Someone had mentioned a pony club a few months back, I looked for the information its St. Croix Pony Club (340)692-4034.

The pony club has a web site at http://www.stxpc.org/ - should give you some background on what's going on there. There's video in the Web Links link, and photos in the Gallery link. They're short on stories, but long on fun.

Wow! Thanks islander!
I really appreciate you taking the time to do that, it means alot.

Bruce, thanks for the pony club info I'll check it out. I thought that I read somewhere that there are some camp grounds. I'll go to the national park service to see if I can find any info. How is the camping?

Tammy, I'll pm you.

Thanks Again-Brooke

Hello Brooke,

You're welcome ;).

I don't think any of the National Parks on St. Croix offer camping. There is a private campground which is likely the one you are referring to, Mt. Victory: http://www.mtvictorycamp.com/.

The Mt. Victory Camp is very different than any park campground you've ever been to. It's beautiful, but different. You'll have to see for yourself if it is your idea of camping.

Hi - my husband and I are planning a move in August with our 3 year old daughter. I appreciated all of your questions - as they are ones I would ask.

Any info on schools to share?

We also have 4 boys (12, 10, 5 and 1 1/2) and are seriously considering a move to either St. Croix or St. Thomas within the next year or so. Would you keep me posted on your move with your boys. I am really concerned about my guys' adjustments to a new life. We will be coming to stay for about 3 weeks soon to see how we feel. Would love to keep in touch with you!

Thanks!
Dana
