I have it on good authority that one of our very own will be leading the boat parade this year on St. Croix. Mark your calendar for Dec. 8th. those of you off island go on the gotostcroix and watch. Our very own Alexandra and hubby will be leading the parade.

Marlene - Yes, we are slated to be the lead boat in this year's parade... assuming that your employers don't DROP the Parrothead when they put it back into the water after its current haul-out! Egads at the thought! Now to somehow find time to decorate the boat with billions of lights next week...

The street fair attached to this event is always one of the most fun celebrations of the year in C'sted. I love the 30+ member steel pan drum band that plays Xmas carols for hours while the Mocko Jumbies dance in the street.

Does anyone know when the STX Christmas Boat Parade has been re-scheduled for?

Supposedly it's back on for this Friday... but don't hold your breath just yet. www.windfinder.com doesn't show the winds slacking off below 20 knots through the weekend. The Hurricane Hunters are flying in tonight to fly the weather pattern because the system has begun to rotate.

There are quite a few boats who are requesting that the parade be on Dec. 22nd once people's families get here from the mainland, etc. I know we already have our boat booked for a holiday party this coming Saturday night, so if they try to hold the parade on the 15th, I don't think we will cancel our other plans for 100+ guests and still be the lead boat in the parade.

Alexandra, I didn't hear about Friday? If it is Friday I would love it! Saturday is the Christmas party for St. Croix Marine and Golden Rail at the restaurant. I would miss it.

I think there is still a lot of question about either Friday or Saturday and people are hearing different things. chances are the weather is going to force the whole thing off another week anyway. I'm all for the 22nd.

December 22nd. The fireworks Hovensa is providing are also rescheduled for that night. Now everyone hold your breath and don't contribute to the wind or we might have to postpone it again.
