Good evening, all,

Ran across an interesting site tonight ... yes, hubby is sleeping and Merlot and web surfing DO mix. A great site that I thought we could do something with (Islander, ?). Basically we list stuff we want to give away (in my case some patio furniture I don't want but can't haul away in my little car ) and also stuff we want (again, in my case plastic grocery bags for another project). The only rules are the things must be FREE! Take a look at this and let me know if anyone is interested in starting something similar here in St. Thomas.

Sorry looks like you have to cut and paste in your browser.

Pamela

Islander, hope I am not violating any rules here.

I just left Michigan where I belonged to 3 different area Freecycle groups. I had free-for-alls when it came time for me to get rid of what was left before the big move. It was so much fun. And I received all my boxes and packing materials free with the asking. You ask, you receive.

Great idea. We will be renovating in a couple of months. I will have lots of cabinets, countertops, entertainment centers, 2 stoves, all of the light fixtures and more. The cabinets would work great in a garage or workshop. I'll post when we are ready, otherwise everything is going into the dumpster. That would be a waste.

Caribbean Community Theater was looking for a fridge a while back. I'll try to remember to call someone and see if they still need one.

that would be great, if they want this one, send me a PM and I'll give directions to my house and my number!
I also have a couple of metal filing cabinets that someone might want... great shape, I just don't need them.

Thanks for the reminder Suzette. I DID forget. Just sent an email to the pres. of the theater. I'm sure I'll hear back soon. Will PM you if we want it.

That's a great idea. I just got back from a year in the States, and I oftened joked that everything was free there. This board or the yahoo site are good forums for it, or there is already one on www.craigslist.org. People there also list what they want and what they are giving away for free. 🙂

I agree....Freecycle and especially...craigslist.org. I have sold many things on craigslist.

One vote for each!

How do you access anything in the Virgin Islands on craigslist.org? We're not listed as a choice. I know people do it, though.

Thanks for any tips.

Unfortunately, we are lumped into the category of "caribbean islands" at the moment. But there are a few people advertising there already.

If you like Craigslist, please send Craig and staff a post, through the gen board, requesting that the Virgin Islands be given an independent section. PR has its own category and it kills me that we are getting lost with other Carib islands.

We will back on May 13th to work on our renovation project. we have free for the hauling a very large cabinet with shelves above, and lots of commercial grade carpet. It is green with a print, it's in great shape. We are also replacing all of the light fixtures, lot's of track lighting.
