My husband and I are visiting St. Thomas the last week in August. We have found that the best vacations happen when you get involved with some interesting folks, not when you spend your time taking photos of historical sites. So my question is, can someone tell us where to get involved with maybe a volunteer group, a church activity, or some way to mingle with locals with limited time available?
Also - We are country dance teachers. Is there any line/ countrydancing happening on St. Thomas?

Just moved here to STX yesterday from Nebraska. Let me know if you find country dance interest in STX - I miss it!

Perhaps you can teach class on STX?

Kay welcome to STX from the flat plains of Nebraska. Hope you left all those wooly sweaters behind!

Country music & dance lessons.......can't think of any place that offers lessons. However Chicken Charlies out on E End Road has an open air theme, views of Buck Island & they have live bands there..............country/blues/rock mix. Good pulled pork bbq sands too!
I'm sure Charlie would possibly be interested perhaps in a line dance lessons or groups...........I'd NEVER get my husband there , but it would be FUN!
Stop in some time, they have movie night, trivia night, all you can eat pasta night.............cold beers, good food & nascar on sundays!
Then start chatting with the bar tender, Charlie is generally there & who knows.........you could get the whole dancing thing started!!!
