The Virgin Islands will see a total lunar eclipse this Saturday evening, March 3, 2007, if the clouds cooperate. The eastern US mainland will see all or part of the eclipse. The western US will see none of it. Here's the schedule for the VI.

Saturday, March 3, 2007, Atlantic Standard Time:
5:30 PM Lunar eclipse begins (earth's shadow starts to block moon)
6:20 PM Moonrise*
6:25 PM Sunset*
6:44 PM Lunar eclipse totality begins (earth's shadow fully blocks moon)
7:21 PM Full Moon, and the peak of the eclipse
7:58 PM Lunar eclipse totality ends
9:12 PM Lunar eclipse ends

* For Christiansted, STX
