MALE MENTORS SOUGHT ON STT!

Does anybody out there have the time, dedication and energy to mentor a local high school student n STT?

I have two good local kids sort of under my wing. One is 16, the other is 17.

The former gets good grades, is painfully quiet, worked this summer washing cars at the local high school.

The latter just made 10th grade at 16 years of age. He has dyslexia which has never been addressed by the school system,. He LOVES to fish and be out on the water.

These are two kids who just happened to find me a year or so ago.

I would very much like to put these two young men on a proper path but help is needed from others. So is anyone out there willing and able? PM me for more information.

Cheers all! XXX

Sounds perfect for me. I am landing September 18. I will be living in Bluebeards Castle but I will not have a car. I am a high school teacher and a Big Brother in Michigan but am relocating. If either one lives close by and I can somehow swing it without owning a car I would love to help. Let me know.

Thanks so much for your reply. I think that being without transportation would be a problem as obviously neither of these two young men drive.

There are so many children here who fall through the cracks for so many reasons and I would love to see these two make some sort of progress in life. I have a couple of irons in the fire and would welcome input from anyone else who knows anyone who might be able to devote a couple of hours a week mentoring them and exposing them to something other than their "home-boys." Boating expeditions, trade-working experience, anything to put their minds and hands to use with maybe a little pocket money thrown in.

Please PM me if you have any leads. Both boys live on the East End STT. Thanks so much.
