The Friends of the St. Thomas Public Libraries (FOSTPL) invite the community to participate in the National Education Association (NEA) “Read Across America” Day and support Dockside Bookshop at Havensight Mall on Friday, March 2nd from 3:30pm to 5:30pm.

"Read Across America" is traditionally held on March 2nd, the birth date of the late Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as "Dr. Seuss" in tribute to his many works.

Dockside Bookshop, like many independent book stores is currently the only one of its kind serving this community, and the Friends of the St. Thomas Public Libraries would like to see this "indie", as they are called, continue to serve and flourish.  It is hoped that the event will also encourage more support of the territory's independent booksellers (Undercover Books & Gifts on St. Croix, and Dockside Bookshop on St.Thomas), which are key adjuncts to school, university and public libraries.

Participants will enjoy storytelling (including Dr. Seuss' "The Lorax", which will be released as a major motion picture beginning in March), prizes and fun for everyone.
