Hello!

We are moving from the mainland to the East End of St. Thomas in February. We are looking for childcare help about 30-40 hrs a week ~10-6pm Monday through Friday) for our 18th month old toddler.

We are interested in someone with childcare and/or an early education background. We like to keep our son's days as active, educational and engaging as possible, so we'd like someone in good health, with alot of energy and the patience to spend his/her days guiding our active toddler. Our initial needs are for the following weeks:

February 16-20
February 23-27
March 2-6

In addition to the weeks above, we will be interested in someone who might be interested in a more permanent placement for full time M-F help for the end of March/Beginning of April through the summer months. Our actual travel/on island schedule for the spring/summer is still TBD but should be finalized within the coming weeks and will be communicated in advance to our future nanny.

We are somewhat flexible with the schedule and hours, if we can find the right person to care for our son. This could include some personal time for errands or excercise during the baby's nap time as I will be working from the home office for a portion of the time.

If you are interested, please send me any relevant information about yourself and your experience. Please let us know if you are interested in the immediate and/or long term position(s). Please PM me with a resume or a summary of your qualifications or experience. Please also submit a list of dates you may not be available during the Spring/Summer. We also would like to check references for atleast the longer term position.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you'd like more information or have any questions.

Hi Bu Terrier,

We might have what you are looking for. VI Montessori School & International Academy is located in the east end of St. Thomas in Red Hook and we have a fabulous toddler program called LA CASA. We like to say It's a home away from home. We do offer childcare from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mon-Fri. At Montessori you will see that its more than just child care it's about developing the whole child.

Please feel free to visit our website at www.vimontessori.com

Give us a call at 775-6360 and ask for Shournagh McWeeney-Montessori Director.

Best wishes,:-)

Hello Erika,

Thank you for your prompt response. We have visited the Montessori school and Ms. McWeeney gave us an excellent tour of the facililty and we are certainly are considering enrolling our son for the Fall. Unfortunately, as he is only 18months old, it was our understanding he would not be able to start this semester due to the 2 yr old age minimum. If I've misinterpreted please do not hesitate to correct me. We would love to enroll for this semester.

Otherwise, we are hoping that your school and/or colleagues might also have recommendations for a nanny for the Spring and Summer months. As we are relocating, we know very few people and need to set up some reliable childcare for our son.

Thank you.

HI-
My name is Lou Kosch and I spotted your posting for a childcare provider. I am returning to the VI at the end of January after having resided in the States for the past 3 years. I am looking for a long term child care position on STT or STJ. I had moved back to the States to accommodate a family medical situation and during that time I provided daily child care for 2 families that were neighbors. Both of their children started 1st grade this year, so this is the opportune time for me to return to STJ.
If you are interested in my references I would be happy to supply them. In my personal background: I am a 54 year old mother of 3 and the proud grandmother of 2 , I am an adamant non-smoker, and only drink on the rare social occasion. I will most likely wait awhile before purchasing a car as car prices on the island are very high to say nothing of the abysmal parking situation on STJ. I have owned my own business and am a very responsible person. I truly love children and have done in-home day care back when my youngest was, well...young.
I am available for all your time slots and my subsequent availability is open.
My contact info is Lugene (Lou) Kosch at loukosch@yahoo.com or 312.841.8899 i look forward to speaking with you.

Thanks,
Lou Kosch
