The 2nd Annual Virgin Island's Bartender Olympics is June 22, 2008 in Christiansted (actually on the beach at Protestant Key)! This year there are more bars participating, more competitive juices flowing and a ton more fun to be had by a much bigger crowd. Last year was a huge hit and raised more than $8000.00 for the St. Croix Animal Welfare Center. This year the event hopes to raise even more!
What is it? Check out the website at www.vibartenderolympics.com where you can vote for your favorite participating bartender, buy tickets, make a donation, or just get more info about the competitions and how you (or your bar) can participate.
For those of us that aren't competing, plan for a fantastically fun day on the beach as a spectator! Watch your favorite bartenders compete for title of 'Best Bartender in the VI' or your favorite servers dash for the title of 'Best Server in the VI'. There will be raffles, audience participation, and plenty of fun going on. Bring your bathing suit and sunblock - the party is on from noon til 6.
This event is all in support of our very worthy St. Croix Animal Welfare Center. Mark your calendar and come have some fun! Check out the website!

NEWS just in! In addition to Rodrigo Delpeche - a world champeon Flair Bartender who put on a fantastic demonstration last year and will be doing so again this year... there will be a second talented flair bartender from the U.S. contributing to the fun activities on the beach this year.
