Rotary East is sponsoring a cleanup of Water Bay Beach (Pineapple Beach) on Sunday, October 26 from 9am to noon. This is being done as part of International Coastal Cleanup 2008 and the International Year of the Reef 2008. All are welcome (adults and children). Trash bags will be provided. Bring sunscreen, water (and gloves if you wish).

Directions: From Red Hook continue past Sapphire and Point Pleasant. Look for the "Welcome to Pineapple Village" sign on the next right turn after Point Pleasant. Go through the guard date and park in front of the old Stouffers/Renaissance Hotel and meet us on the beach.

If you can't come for the full 3 hours, please come for as little or as long as you would like.

Questions? Call Fiona Stuart at 626-4690.

If you prefer to collect trash in and underwater, the Coki Beach Dive Shop is doing a water clean up at the same time. Meet Peter Jackson at 9am in the Coki Beach parking lot. He'll be in the blue van and has masks and snorkels if you don't have your own. Any certified divers would be welcome too to help with deeper debris. Peter's cell phone number is 998-4196.
