Chili Cook Off (Read Article)
St. Thomas, Bolongo Bay
23rd annual Texas Society of the Virgin Islands Chili Cook Off will be held at Bolongo Beach on August 26th. The Cook Off is a fundraiser organized by the Texas Society, the funds raised are used to benefit various island charitable groups. The Texas Society, a group of Texas transplants to the Virgin Islands, set up a branch of the Chili Appreciation Society in St. Thomas and every year they have the Chili Cook Off. Participants in the Cook Off are numerous; often there are some 30 booths. Participants serve mild chili, hot chili, vege-chili, super hot and on and on. The booths are sponsored by hotels, individuals, restaurants and during election time even senators! Chili is the main theme but there are a few booths with beer among other drinks like soda and water of course! Games for children &

I haven't heard or seen anything. That damn ambassador must be crazy busy.

Yikes, my husband signed us up for our own booth! (HE is the cook, not I !)
I will need to locate the BEER booth !
Anyone else here going to participate ?

We're so sad to miss the cook-off again. The last one we went to was a few years back at Sapphire. Such a great time.....
