Head to Old San Juan to explore and have great food. La Fortaleza is another great nearby exploring option in Old San Juan.
Head to Plaza Las Americas and shop until you drop! Of course if you are coming from the states you won't be as shopping mall deprived as we are here in de islands.

Another vote for old San Juan. Great walking (if you don't mind a few hills), alot of history to look at.

Pinones is closer, and you can rent a bicycle to ride on the boardwalk. It's lovely, because it's not very touristy. You'll find more about the area if you Google.

9 hours. Wow. Some of the big hotel resorts on the condado offer day passes. Explore, than spend a couple hours pool side or in the spa.
