You know,in looking back at the original post, I wonder if the OP was referring to the need to live here a year before one is considered a local for EDC company purposes. I think I read somewhere that the legislature or some group was up in arms about the way the companies count "locals." :S

That was really big local news and I think was briefly discussed on this forum. The governor vetoed the measure.
