I have been reading the messages on your board for some time as a lurker because I love St. Croix. I am hoping you all can offer me your opinion.

My family and I are scheduled to arrive 25 October to stay on Cane Bay for two weeks. I am troubled by the fact that I have not been successful getting in touch with the owner of the home we are staying in, more so after reading about the possibility that they do not have electricity available. Is it true there is no electricity near Cane Bay? Should I be planning to not come? I really do not want to stay somewhere with no electricity and a baby. I am worried because I know the home is close to Off the Wall bar. We are scheduled to leave for the US on Wednesday, so I feel like I need to make a decision soon as we are meeting family first in Miami.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

It is also possible that the home you are visiting has a generator and therefore power. I would be very hesitant to come without first contacting the property manager.

There are Hotels on STX that do have power and where things are running normally. I work at the Buccaneer, so I know we are running normally and I am sure there are others. Just in case you still want to come and need to change your housing plans.
