I am very disturbed and shocked by the reported animal abuse cases coming out of St. John. From the Source article, it appears that someone is intentionally poisoning cats on the lawn at the St. John animal shelter and also leaving a dead dog there ( don't want to put in details-it's bad). Then there are the 2 donkeys that were found dead. Is anyone on here on St. John? I really hope this is looked in to and investigated as one of the shelter workers gave a vehicle description, per the article. What is going on?!

I read about it too. It is heartbreaking and revolting. I hope they catch the subhumans responsible and do the same thing to them.

I'm on STJ. I hope they catch the person that did it as well and set a strong statement when they do. The ACC purchased cameras after the incident with the cats. Hopefully they have them all installed now. It is my observation that animals/pets are viewed differently in this culture than they are on the mainland. I'm not at all implying that cruelty is accepted, but they aren't as papered here as you see in the states. Lots of feral cats, pigs, donkeys, goats, etc. Cockfighting is legal and popular. The shooting of the donkeys, poisoning of the cats, and killing of dogs is NOT accepted and I hope that they find those responsible.
