Well my move is coming up in just 2 months and was wondering if anyone e has anyone last minute advice for me and tips. I've done a lot of reading and talking on this forum so far and just asking for anything any of you might have left out or anything that you guys think will help my relocation to stx. Thanks!

Have a huge house sale - save money!! - pay up for a refundable return trip ticket - bring less things than you think you must have - pack a few boxes of those things and leave them with someone to mail to you once you are here if you want them - get originals or copies of any documents you can think of like drivers report, birth certificate - social security cards - pertinent medical, dental records - criminal record - references - bank info - inform your credit cards or bank of the move - get an ATT or Sprint plan - renew anything that is expiring in the next few months that you might need - check your insurance plans - fill up any prescriptions, get refill scripts ahead of time - don't bring a lot of valuables, put them in a safe deposit box - don't bring much fancy clothing or dry cleaning items - pack them and mail them later if that is needed.
Save more money - arrange access to cash for housing, deposits, car etc.

Be sure to check & double check with the airline when flying your pets here. You have a pug, if memory serves me. Unless you can bring him/her as a carry on, you may not be allowed to. Your baby falls under restricted breeds.......Also August ground temps will be too hot to bring any pet down if they go as cargo.

she will be going as a carry on a couple weeks after we get to stx. My girlfriends mom will be bring our pug down with her. I decided to have our dog comes an after U.S. So we can get settled and find a more permanent pet friendly place.

Good deal on your pug. Have your g/f mom call 24 hrs in advance to remind them she has a pet/carry on. They only allow so many per flight & they are 1st come 1st serve.
Try to relax as things move at a very sloooooooooow pace here. Smile & greet everyone, it goes along way! With that said, everyone has been super friendly/helpful, so happy I moved back home to STX!

Good luck to you on your move and getting settled in.
I'm sure you'll do fine as will your pug.

Make sure your Mom knows the right time to get the dog's health certificate, & the address you will be at here for your vet to put on the paperwork

Yes, like any where else, there are places even on a tropical island that you shouldn't go, especially alone. Upon arriving, get with a few locals and find out where those places are and avoid them.
