No real boat transport from PR to STT unless they've added some recently that I don't know about. You can take the sea plane, or a regular flight in from PR though, usually for less than $100.

Vespas are cheap. The amount of trauma insurance you'll need to make sure you're able to withstand the hospital bills will be extensive and offset the cost of an auto.

I loved the comment I think EE posted that said something to the affect that the real problem with the two wheel tranporters was the lack of a neuro surgeon.

promo: I always thought that a Sherman tank would be about the best transportation to protect oneself from the aggressive safari drivers and the semi drivers who think that they are racing Porsches!

But seriously, case...yes, you can fly to Puerto Rico fairly cheaply, but the last 50 miles here will use up the savings! 😉 And we do not have a full time neurosurgeon, so like Dirty Harry said, "Do you feel lucky?"

The ones that used to scare me were the young men with exhausts that sounded like a tin of angry bees duct taped to the inside of a trash can. The said trash can was usually under a perfectly feeble "tricked out" Ford Focus, but hey...even a Ford Focus driven at top speed thru town by an idiot can be quite scary!!!!
