Any Comments on Managed Freight?

We're planning to move from NJ to STX in June and have been researching movers. So far, Managed Freight has the best estimate (better than Tropical) and seem the most knowledgeable about the logistics of moving household goods plus a car. Before we commit to going with Managed Freight, I'd ike to hear from anyone who's used them.

Specifically, I'd like to know:
-Did the move happen on schedule?
-Did the actual price come within the estimated price?
-Was the move handled well by Managed Freight and by the local moving companies?
-Did you experience any breakage or missing items?

Many thanks!
Jamila

Use the search tool at the top of the page, type in Managed Freight. You'll find lots of comments. Everything I've seen has been very positive.

We used Lee at Managed Freight to ship our truck. Shipped as scheduled, no problems, same condition as when we started. Price was as stated. We had to have marine insurance for our Ford Credit Loan. That expense was more than quoted, but not Lee's fault. I would use them again. www.managedfreight.com

We used Crowley for shipping household goods. Also, all good news there.

You can contact Lee Fleming at 888-820-8475.

Since we're moving household goods and a car, I've been researching full-service movers vs. booking everything myself using Crowley or Tropical plus local movers.

As expected, the full-service movers were the most expensive. I found the big names to be useless. I tried Allied and they still haven't gotten back to me with an estimate, after waiting an entire month!

The estimates for the actual shipping of the container that Crowley and Tropical gave me were much higher than the estimate Managed Freight gave me. I assume they've got some sort of a deal, so in the end I'm paying the same amount if I were booking everything myself and getting much more out of it.

My biggest concern is negotiating the red tape once the container gets to STX. This is where I think Managed Freight is going to be most useful.

Awesome reference of Lee @ Managed Freight. I received more honest answers from him in a 10 minute phone call then I did after dealing with 3 of the largest movers in home visits.

A pro who is honest. That is difficult to find in the moving industry.
