Andy Williamson was ALWAYS my favourite and very best vet, as long as you understand that Andy cares FIRST about the animals and only secondly about the humans that own them. He always has been incredibly rude and cranky with idiot owners.

Depends on where you're located but Moore Veterinary Clinic is in Red Hook Plaza and I've a long and good history wth them. They've also recently taken over the Tutu Veterinary Hospital from Dr. Charles Saunders which is on the Weymouth Rhymer Highway between Tutu Park Mall and Market Square East. John Moore does the Red Hook practice and his wife Marilyn is taking care of Chuck Saunder's previous practise.

I've heard really good things about Imperial

I too used to go to Doc Williamson. He saved my dog Syd when she got a bad bout of tick fever. I will always be grateful to him for that.
He is however closer to the East End and when we relocated to Northwest we went with Imperial, which is in Altona (near town).

And, respectfully, STT Res., I don't think his crankiness is reserved only for "idiot" owners. He is a brusque man no bones about it (although it never bothered me), but a genius with local island animal issues nonetheless.

I, too, used to go to Williamson. But, then my dog got tick fever (eherlickiosis) (sp?) and Williamson nearly killed him. I think he may be losing it in his old age. That seems to be the consensus among many people I talk to regarding him. Then, about 2 weeks after he nearly killed my dog (I found out all about how he nearly killed him from my new vet, Dr. Trip Stewart at Imperial) we boarded him there for a week, and when we got home, we pulled 22 ticks off of him! 22! And this is a dog that almost died from tick fever?!? He may have been good in his day, but I refuse to go there for anything anymore. Dr. Trip is great with people and animals. Imperial is my recommendation.
