This is an interesting question. Everyone always says that employers want you to be here in person before they will start talking to you about a job. While that is largely true for the smaller employers, I wonder if the big mega-resort companies like Marriott, Ritz-Carlton and Wyndham take applicaitons online.

Hello Jordan,

The large resorts, the ones Stt mentioned, have on-line web sites where you can submit resumes. I would imagine your better bet would be to contact the human resource people at the resorts and fax your resume stating that you are willing to move or are moving - there are people who get resort work from away at the larger properties like Ritz.

You are right Islander...about four years ago I applied for a Recreation Manger Position opening at the Ritz on-line..I was to take a cruise and went for a scheduled interview the day we docked in STT...Sorry to say I didnt get the job..but did get an interview..and am sure they had 100 resumes..since it was on-line. But I am sure I would have stood a better chance had I been living in STT...but you NEVER KNOW. I was in HR Management for 30 years with recreation experience in the past..so maybe the recruiter decided I might be interested in her job..lol..whick I wasnt..or maybe they hired someone with better qualifications and YOUNGER..But they treated me nice and made me feel welcome.
