Good afternoon board. I will be coming into Christiansted on Jan 1 at 9am. I will not have the house situated or scooter operational until the next day. I am concerned that with no food and transportation, I will be starved and stuck in town. My question is, will anything be open on New Years Day in Christiansted?

On an unrelated topic, I heard that there may be a golf course that offers discounted green fees for residents. Can anyone confirm this, and let me know which course may do so. Also, I have never golfed before, so I will also be looking for recommendations for an instructor.

Thank you for your input.

Jeff

mojo, welcome. there are always taxis that can get you somewhere.

in order to be classified as a resident you will need a dl with your address here. not sure about the discounts though

Well Mojo (jeff) , You will have no problems with food or transportation on New Years Day. The island is fully open and ready to do business.

Your comments about golf are rather interesting. While St Croix has two fine golf courses, and another (the reef) that is short, rocky and unique. Yes, there are discounts available to local people, however that is less important because golf is not as important here as it is on other islands.

Whoops...I just went back and read your earlier posts. Your questions make no sense. if you want a golf instructor, go to Carambola or Buccaneer and ask what they can do. duh
