Do the local ATM's limit the amount of cash that you can take out daily? It is unlimited with my bank (US Bank), as long as the funds are available. If their is a limit, I may need to rethink how much cash to bring. Your help would be much appreciated.

Not sure about the atms, but out of town checks, your credit cards and check cards all work down here. Most places do take credit cards it just a few of the restaurants that do not. I personnally would not travel with alot of cash or travelers checks.

Bank of St. Croix has a $300 limit and First Bank has a $500 limit. It may be different if you bank there. I use my stateside ATM card.

My Scotiabank ATM's limit me to $1,500 per day for withdrawal (not that I need $1,500 a day, but ya never know! Haha!)

Most of the busy ones from sunny isle area to c'sted area do take credit cards, you just have to go inside to use them. No swipe at the pump.

The one in Sunny Isles next to the Shuama station doesn't take credit cards. Shuama does though.

I second what Betty said. I've found all the stations I've tried between Sunny Isle and just west of Christiansted (Richmond?) take my AMEX.

On a separate note - I was alarmed to recently realize that the credit card receipts (and they're all the same system except at KMart from what I've seen) you get back contain your ENTIRE credit number, expiration date, and copy of your signature! !!! I'm amazed STX isn't the identity theft capital of the world.

I'm saving a big stack of these receipts until my household goods including my shredder get here this summer.
