For those who are with ATT & have poor signal, ATT will send you a micro cell free of charge.

They said it has a 97% effective rate...I hope so! I would love to be able to use my phone from home!

What I did was go onto Live Chat, then they called me with a technician to get all my info. It was relatively painless.

I hope this helps someone else!

Just an update on my MicroCell.

It works well and when I am connected I have five bars on my two 3G phones.

The connection to the MicroCell isn't automatic. In some parts of my home near a window I have good AT&T service so my phones will drop the MicroCell and connect to AT&T. When I move away from the window the connection doesn't reestablish itself unless I switch to airplane mode for ten seconds or turn of the phone and turn it on again.

Also the MicroCell only works with 3G phones (just because it says 3G or 4G on the start up splash screen doesn't mean the phone is 3G. Also it seldom or ever works with my older 3GS Iphone.

For free however it is a no brainer.

I have been told the micro cell requires an internet connection to work?

True?

Yes. You need a good Internet connection. BBVI works fine. DSL from Innovative is probably not fast enough and given the latency fluctuations you sometimes get with Choice good luck. Latency with satellite would also cause problems.

No experience with Innovative's new higher speed fiber delivered Internet service but in theory it should work great, but with Innovative one never knows.

I have one from Sprint for 5 years now. It works well inside my house with full bars.

Yes you need a internet line.

It works like a tower. It has an address in their system and will hand off to the the nearest big tower around. So it is like having a tower in your house!

Beeski, the first time I chatted I got the same answer as you did. The 2nd time I got someone who made it work. Give it another go! Good luck!

I've got one at home and one at work.
They are awesome!
Had to pay $199 for each at the AT&T store in Sunny Isle.
They were shipped to me.

I have the Sprint equivalent, which is the Air Rave. Sprint shipped it to me at no charge and there is no fee involved unless I don't return it when I no longer want it. And yes, it does work most of the time, although if it loses it connection it can sometimes take hours to restablish. But with it I can use my cell phone anywhere in the house instead of having to stand next to a south facing window like I had to before I got it a year ago. Also, I don't recall specifically what the issue was, but the connection instructions that came have to be modified if you have Broadband VI.
