Hi all,
I am looking for a good, reliable auto mechanic on island (STT) that can rebuild transmissions, and other miscellaneous stuff. Any recommendations? Also, my husband is a car guy (worked on hot rods and such back home) and is thinking of buying a vehicle he can do some work on (to have something "fun" to do in his spare time...I know, I know...doesn't sound AT ALL fun to me either!!). Looking at a Jeep or something that is fun to drive, practical for island but that he can tinker with and get his fix (until he takes a trip home to work on his '69 Camaro). Any other car guys out there that he can chat with?? Or, does anyone know any car guys?? Would appreciate any info for mechanics and enthusiasts if they exist here...

Specializes in transmission and engine repair. He came to my office two weeks ago on a recommendation from a friend, diagnosed the problem, drove my car (which I couldn't even get into gear) to his shop and returned it with a brand new clutch in 4 hours! Decent price too.

Anyone else?? Would love to have several suggestions so that hubby can "interview" them...as he knows cars, he will be picky!!
