I'm planning to move to STT in the spring, my daughter is 5 and I will need to find a babysitter and/or daycamp for her while I am working. Can anyone tell me the best way to find babysitters on island or recommend a good day camp for the summer? Thanks.

Hello Imani:
While my daughter is only 8 months, I have discovered that the best way to find good services for your child is through word of mouth!
For your daughter's age range, I have heard nothing but excellent thongs about Montessori. They have a racially diverse student body and the Montessori program is well known and respected. They have a waiting list, however, so I suggest you make contact sooner rather than later if you are, or may be, interested. 340-775-6360.
Not sure if they have a summer program, but they should at least be able to give you some information.

Good luck.

Oh, also, I recently looked at a daycamp called Paradise Day Camp. The students looked very happy and the school is extremely well-organized and efficient. It is run by a Pastor and his wife, both very friendly. The school btw is non-denominational. I have their number at home, if you are interested, feel free to email me.

No, Montessori has no thongs and they are most definitely NOT excellent!

Oops, really must spellcheck before hitting post.

But Onika, spell check would not have any problems with excellent thongs! 😉
