Hi, I just saw a topic about banking, but I have a question. on St John, do they have a bank on the island or do you have to travel to St Thomas to do banking. And it is hard to open a checking account down there?

there is a bank located on the corner across from connections in cruz bay. i think it's now called first bank. so yes, you may bank on the island. as for opening a checking account there, i've never heard of people having problems, but you might want to check w/them to see what the requirements are. sorry, i don't know their number offhand.
