Hey! I am planning on riding my motorcycle to Florida and then shipping/ barging/ ferrying it to VI. Does anyone know how to get in contact with the barge or ferry. How much it costs? I also heard a rumor that there cannot be any loans on it, true? any advice on the big move would be useful. thanks Jenna

Hello Jenna,

You can not ship a vehicle that has a loan on it in most cases, there are exceptions... if your loan company will give you special autorization to leave the mainland with it. You would need this to present to the barge/shipping people as proof. Read Story #13 in the what to expect section for information/experience from someone who recently shipped a car... you will find it helpful.

the latter has a breakdown of cost for shipping a car. Of course your cost would be diiferent because of weight but it will give you an idea of whats invovled.
