Ok, one more of my cooky questions. 😉

With the cost of living being high on the islands have any of you begun bartering for products and services to keep cost of living down. Something like a few dozen eggs for a hair cut etc. Computer fix for construction help at your house etc. We have a local artist here who helped a doctor with his business and now gets free Dr visits.

Have you found hidden talent which allow you to make additional income?

Hello there again Iris. I've been doing it, but on a very small scale. I grow plants and can cut hair. In return, I get to pick new plants and to date, the hair cuts are just for free. Sometime it puts gas in my car. Anything more formal than that I don't know of.

There is some paper called the Trader (?) I think that might have more of that listed (unless that was in NY, CT or SC....the mind is a terrible thing to lose). If I see one, I will pick it up to see if it has a web address.

Daniel, it is a terrible thing to lose a mind..IT IS NOT...a mind is a terrible thing to lose.
Every time that commercial comes on I want to cringe .
Sorry, pet peeve.

I forgot to mention that yes, I am up for adoption! Although to some, adopting someone in their mid-life seems odd, I believe it is underrated. I am a good conversationalist, need no physical parental care, and can take care of the gardens.

Thank you for giving me a reinforcement about the correction, and for the other nice things you said,

Warmly,

Dan

Can I barter you for my husband lol 😉 I just came in from cutting the grass and weeding. I do pretty much everything around here. This was his job but as of late our property does look like we are living in the jungle already lol. But then maybe he is trying to condition me for island living ;

I am no threat to husbands so am usually adoptable by them as well! I actually listen actively, pitch in with any chores from washing dishes to washing cars or yard work. I would run it by your husband, however, and it is a most unusual set up!

Best wishes for your husband also getting conditioned for island yard care,

Dan

Lol Dan. He is not the jellous type. He just takes on too much and then is not much help to me. I hope island live will help with that. He is an avid gardener when he has time. But he does like the wild look. I like it a little more manicured at least around the house. He was adopted so I am sure he is open to it lol.
