Are any of you from the USVI popping over for this tomorrow? Especially since airfare is now under 40 USD each way. Tickets on American Airlines as low as 76.50 round trip with taxes. Gotta love competition. I hope it stays this way when I move to your neck of the water.

Anyway wondering if anyone is doing the 10K tomorrow and want to meet up before or after? I plan to make my way there starting at 2:30. I can give a ride to anyone staying in the beach areas.

Ha, ha! 8 Tuff Miles was yesterday. Seems like every runner or walker in the VI was there.. Today is a day of rest! Good luck in the race, though.:D

I thought that maybe my post was out of place but it sounds like it wasn't I only needed to post earlier. Oh well.

Oh sorry I misunderstood. I thought Tuff Miles was someone's user name and they were in PR for the 10K today. Opps.

It seems like you guys never come over here. Yes it is farther but do people need to come over here sometimes for certain supplies that can't be found on the smaller USVI? I know it used to cost 200 USD round trip to fly but now it is so cheap. I am supper excited about that for when I move there but need to come back here for stuff.

Honestly, these days we can get most everything we need here and if not we have it shipped. Even walmart.com ships here now as does amazon.com. I haven't been to PR in over 5 years, and that was only because my job made me go. Every time I hear someone moan about traffic during the weekdays in downtown Charlotte Amalia, I laugh thinking about real traffic: the morning commute from Toa Alta past Bayamon.

Did you live in PR? You said the commute from Toa Alta past Bayamon. Or are you from here? Yeah luckily I live in Ocean Park a block from the beach and go to school at La Inter, Metro campus which is 7.5 miles from my house. For the nursing English program most of the classes are at night starting at 6PM. I try to leave before 3PM and study at school for a couple hours because after that it may take me 45 minutes to go 7.5 miles when at night after class I can get home in 11 minutes. And there are much worse routes. Glad to know it is not as bad there.

Now can you guys get free shipping from Amazon. I have Prime and although in the states it was 2 day shipping it is 3 to 7 days in PR but in all actuality it is 2 days. I buy almost everything on Amazon. They stopped free shipping to PR for 4 months and it sucked. It was not worth it to shop Amazon when I had to pay shipping. I bought a blender that was 17.99 and had free Prime shipping but when they stopped the free shipping to PR the shipping for that 17.99 product was an additional 14 USD.

I guess the things I would go back to the island for would be to meet with my doctor and pick up prescriptions until my health insurance goes through. It may take 3 months. Laser hair removal is super cheap here so I would throw in a visit. There are some other services that are super cheap over here that I would imagine to be super expensive over there.

The only reason would go to PR is to stay in Old San Juan. I can buy stuff here or have family send stuff from the states if needed. I can run here. I don't even like going through the airport in PR, try for Miami connections.
