I'm doing a pmv in July and will need a rental car for a month, which agency on STX is the least expensive for a month. Could you please give me names and #?

Echogirl,
One problem that I ran into on my last trip (last August):
- Hertz is at the airport
- we did not rent with Hertz
- our flight into STX was delayed and we did not arrive until 1630 (4:30 PM).
- our rental car company (sorry, I don't remember which company) could not pick us up because they closed at 1700 (by the time we called, it was 1640).
- we were able to cancel that rental and Hertz had cars
So, you might want to go with Hertz initially just so that you aren't potentially left stranded at the airport (or have to use taxis to hotel and then to rental company the next day). Then you could evaluate the other companies and work out the logistics of changing cars if desired. I seem to remember that even Hertz at the airport was very reasonable in August.

They will leave the car at the airport with the keys in it. You leave it there when you leave. No hassles.

We've rented from JudiofStX as well.
Last time, I drove over a thorn and the tire went flat out past Divi in a cellphone 'shadow'.
Walked up the road to a home, and the young homeowner was more than happy to let me use his phone.
The owner (can't remember his name!), was there 20 minutes later to change the tire for me.
(Word to the wise: when you rent a car from anywhere, always ask "where's the jack?" They hide them in some interesting places these days, and the car manual that might tell you is not always left in a rental. The jack was under the front seat.).
