Here at home, I always try to shop during the day, mid week to avoid crowds. Is this the case in STX? Do the stores generally get restocked/supplied on certain days of the week or is it hit and miss?

i shop either on the weekend or on my way home from work. depends on what i need.
i prefer to shop on the way home if i can.

I'm on STT but try NEVER to shop weekends or in the evening. If you have the flexibility, shopping during the day is way easier, much less busy (other than the first of the month when residents get their SNAP benefits). Once you get settled and find the stores which best suit you, ask them when they unload their chill trailers and restock.

I shop on Wednesdays/Thursdays in STT.
New produce is usually being stocked on Mondays/Tuesdays.
By the weekend there's slim pickings especially for fresh produce.
Don't know if that's the case on STX.

Never the end or beginning of the month. Mid week mid day. I just ordered a CASE of applegate bacon because it's been out of stock at plaza west. At $18 a package that's gonna be one expensive box!!! Soooo worth it, haha!

Often stop at road vendors for fish and fruit too and sometimes Saturday morning by plaza east for really good fish.

And...if you find something special that you like, buy lots of it when you see it. Chances are you'll never see it on the shelf a second time.

Talk about going whole hog! Bacon wrapped bacon on a bed of bacon topped with bacon. I love it! Lol!

For STX.....Crowley boat comes in on Monday (Pueblo, CUL and Food Town, Seaside), Tropical boat comes in on Tuesday (Plaza)

Still best to check with the individual stores. Some unload chill trailers right away within a few hours of their arriving and others leave the trailer plugged in for a day or more before unloading. Usually a fast turnover but just as easy to ask.
