I'd like to know when is the best time of the year to do a PMV to St. Croix. My husband and I have been considering this for quite a while, and I'm thinking that July would be good, since it is not peak season. I would appreciate any and all suggestions.

If you are looking at schools, it would be better to be here when school is in session.

Not looking at schools since our children are grown and have kids of their own, but thanks for the suggestion.

Will you need jobs? If so I would wait a year or two.

Yes Hiya, we will need jobs. My husband owns his own computer sales/repair/web hosting business, so he is looking at relocating it to wherever we decide to move. I am an accountant, but over the years I have held a variety of job such as waitressing and bartending, plus I've owned my own business also, so I'm pretty much able to do anything.

I've changed our travel date to beginning of April since that will work out best for my job. I have been keeping current on the situation on STX and it doesn't look good at the moment, and hoping it will improve over the next year or so. IF we decide that we will move, it won't be for a year or so in order to complete some commitments we currently have so we are financially ready to make the move.

When we come down, we won't be spending time as tourists, but rather get to know the island so that we can decide if it's a good fit for us. We will be talking to business owners, residents, realtors, and visiting places such as grocery and retail stores to really understand what life is like on STX.

I don't believe in "Rose colored glasses" when it comes to something like this, so information boards such as this are a great source of information for me.

Hope your hubby works on Macs. Only certified repair business just left... :{
